What a small world it is!!! Ususall these types of grants are offerd every 6 months or there abouts. There are 4 levels of funding ranging from Federal through to Local and depending on whether it is a grant through application round will depend on how often they are offered and the length of time it takes to go through the assessment process.
What I can tell you Melissa, is that it is a lengthy time consuming process with lots of Government red tape.
It so happens that I have the dates for the rounds for the City Of Melbourne Small Business Grant. Last week I attended the information session at Melbourne Town Hall. Round dates are as follows:
Round 1 advertised April 2009 closed end May 2009
Assessment June - August
Notified - Late August
Round 2 advertised early September, 2000 closed End October 2009
Assessment November - January 2010
Notification - February 2010
Grant is up to $30,00...full business plan required
Business must be located in the City Of Melbourne
Grants Assistance Contact Number is 9658 8710

It seems to be a maize out there and in my own travels I found this website and had actually decided to join so that I could post a comment asking others if they new of any seed funding available for my own start up business!!!
So, if there is anyone out there, please can you let me know. I have a proven business model ready to go, but need help financing my project and thougth it would be appropriate to approach Governmet Departments but to date I have had no success.
