I have seen the ACT section looking very lonely on its own with no posts for too long! I know that almost everyone works for the public service but there must be a few soloist out there?

I grew up in Canberra, but sadly no longer live there. There must be a lot of ex-public servants now working as freelance consultants floating around down there.

I too moved away from Canberra after living their for 7 years or so - it was a great place to live.

I have just joined FS. I have been running my online-backup business out of Canberra for almost nine years now. I have casual staff in Canberra doing customer service and telemarketing, and currently putting on a salesman in Sydney.

There should be some way we can grow this group?

iv been in buisness here my whole life.
From portable massage therapy, to health/lifestyle coaching- landscaping, and dog related services- consulting and franchise development.

Canberra is a smorgasboard of small business potential.

But yeh, there's few public servants wit ha scope for such things. Most ppl I know are happy to work the blind retarded system than invent better ones.

Its monday morning- and im thinkn how much better itd be to be having a mindstorm meeting at a local cafe, rather than punching at the keyboard.

I'm happy to 'facilitate' other business developers/operators in exchange for the exchange. Aka- free.

Hopefully we get a few more bites, and can organise something soon. Spring is a great time to plant new seeds, and begin new projects.

Actually, there is an easy way to keep in touch with local members of the FS gang, and that's to set up a Canberra Group. We already have groups for forum members from Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and the Gold Coast, as well as several industry specific or interest-focussed groups.
