Those coloured little icons...

ok, I hope they haven't been there for ages and I just haven't noticed them, but the little coloured icons on left of a thread are great !! Please tell me that they are new??

There isn't a hover over the page icon though. I get that the black one means I haven't looked at the thread *hands clapped to side of face* but what about the other colours?

Please explain...

My guess is the colours are linked to the number of responses the thread has received ie. red icon is a hot topic with 15+ responses.

Hi Wendy,

There is a little key hidden away right at the bottom of thread pages that outlines the meaning of the icons. For example at the bottom of this page: http://www.flyingsolo.com.au/forums/working-smarter/

It looks like this:


‘New posts’ or ‘No new posts’ refers to whether there’s been activity since you last visited.

Thread are classified as ‘hot’ or popular if they have a lot of replies or views.

If there is a little person in the icons (rather than a page icon) it means you have posted in the thread at some point.
