Scam Private Message

Apparently the "Nigerian" scammers have joined FS...I received a PM from one just before...there was no way to "report" it so I'm posting here.

In the top right corner of each post (within a thread) is a little message that says Report Post. If you click on that it sets up a message for the forum admin and you can add a comment about the problem.

Use this anytime you see a post that doesn't look kosher to you according to what you know about forum guidelines and of course reasonable common sense. There is one that keeps cropping up trying to sell phones for example!!!

I received it too and there isn't a way to report it from private posts. I will let FS know.

Hi all,

Very sorry if you recieved a Nigerian spam private message on Sunday. It appears to have gone out to quite a few members - teach me to go away for the long weekend!!

We deleted and permanently banned the user's IP address on Sunday and have deleted all their messages so hopefully most of you never saw it.

We've also significantly tightened the limits and restrictions on the number of private messages that can be sent to avoid automated spam robots and prevent any bulk sends.

We're also looking at a number of general spam plugins to keep things clean and tidy as things get busier around here.

As always, keep reporting any dodgy behaviour via direct message to us or 'Report this post' link above every post. All comments/feedback welcome.

I just had a 'notification' from an US spammer, something to do with sexy garment or so - I didn't realize first it was not a PM, it said 'notification' under my welcome details top right corner.
Can't find it anymore to check the sender.. thought, I let you know.

Sorry about that! We've now banned the sender from the forum, so they shouldn't be bothering you any more.
