Default Feedback on affiliate program

Hi All

We recently started a new affiliate program for our website - NearbyNerd.com.au .
If you don't know the site, the idea behind it is to connect users who are having technical problems with the local neighbourhood computer nerds.

With the new program, we offer $10 for every paying customer referred to the site, plus $2 for 2nd-tier referrals.

We'd like to hear what you think about the idea of an affiliate program, what we can do to improve it, whether you think it can be successful, if the commissions are high enough etc.

Also, if you have any ideas of how and where we can promote it (especially for offline referrals) that'd be great.

Thanks!

I think it's an excellent idea. Many Computer Engineers/Geeks have very poor Sales skills. If you can find a way to help them get leads that could be a great service. I also really like your site. As soon as I clicked on it I could see everything I wanted in a fraction of a second. Definitely keep the simple, clear design/layout. Having the search tool/function front and centre is perfect.

While your fees seem reasonable I can't really comment with my limited knowledge of the computer repair industry. One thing I would change though is where you have:

"Get service and repairs at a fraction of the normal cost!"

I would find another way of phrasing it/demonstrating value than using the word "fraction". Best of luck!
