Hey mate,

Just took a quick look and the site looks satisfactory except there are a few rough edges that you should deal with...

The elite logo is sitting on some kind of blue box and looks ordinary. Get rid of it and have a transparent background and it'll look better. To be honest I think you could probably have a better logo too, it doesn't match the vibe of website, and even though you're a "supplements lab" I don't think having the logo inside a giant pill is the best choice for a logo.

Up the top you've got a the logos of brands that you carry (i assume). While this is good and gives your site credibility don't put it right up the top there. It makes that top area feel cluttered and a bit messy... Plus it's repeated in the top of the first page so you don't need to repeat it. Take it out of that top area and it'll feel a lot more professional.

Same thing for the "best price guarantee" badge down the bottom. Having it on the white background immediately shouts "noob". Kill the white background on it and it'll be a lot more convincing.

Easy things to fix mate, otherwise I think the site looks decent.

Hi Gordon,
Sorry to be blunt here. Ive got to say I think the design is screwed as far as SEO is concerned.

From a usability perspective, I'm not impressed.

You have an alpha sorted left-hand navigation menu. Not easy to follow. It would be more user-friendly if products were grouped by more easily followed categories. Eg:

equipment
supplements
vitamins
(others)

This would probably also help any SEO activities.

Regs,
JohnW

Too many things to mention, so here's one...

You're trying to sell products. On the homepage below all those logos (which are displayed twice each!) and below the photo is December's specials. Not only can you not click on the products in the specials to be able to buy them, there's no search function on your site to be able to find the products.

2009... if you count Yahoo! as a major search engine anyway.

Hi Gordan, Navigating around your website has been a little painful for me.

First, you have a huge product menu on the left which goes on and on. I think it is too granular and needs to be grouped and categorised in a common sense way from a customer persepective. While this may increase the number of clicks to get to the desired product, it will still be a lot faster to find it.

Second, there's a lot of scrolling required to see all of the content on each page. I recommend finding a more efficient way to present products and information.

Third, page load times are fast sometimes and slow other times? Even when it only takes 2 or 3 seconds per page, it's enough to turn me away.

On a positive note, I like the aesthetics.

All the best.

I made the website then got a graphic designer to make some changes. That's why the logos of the different brands are shown twice. I might fill that space with some different content today. Yeah I should have made the specials products listed on the home page clickable and take you to that product listing because my site let's me do that fairly easily. I've done that now. The search functions are coming next. I'm going to have a brand search function, product type search function and product search function.

i love MMA.

though the video on the homepage could come under some copyright infringements as it clearly uses footage from the UFC.

i would look at changing it.
