Default flyer/brochure eval

Would someone with some spare time mind giving some feedback on the attached flyer... ?

- i know there's an (a) in the bottom left
- I know the same testimonial is written twice

i'm actually not sure about the "our company" but don't know what to change it to..

"About Us"
"About Adept"
.... etc ?

thank you in advance

(seems it is larger than the forum limit of 20KB.. so you'll need to rab it from here:

Looks like what I'd expect from an IT company and I don't mean that in a bad way. Nice, understated colours, fonts etc.
Not sure if you need to define "adept" to get people to understand that you know what you are doing.
I was a little confused by the logo. While having everything fit together geometrically is cool, I don't think what you have really succeeds in that endeavour. Maybe I'm just old

Not sure if you wanted any feedback on the actual design of the flyer? You have a nice strong/bold logo and I feel overall the typography is weaker than it needs to be and is letting you down.

Aside from possibly using a different typeface for your body copy and headings, I would suggest you increase the point size of the text on page one. The leading of the text is quite open as well. Makes it hard to read. Conversely on the 2nd page the leading (space between the lines) is all squashed up and also hard to read.

Not a fan of fully-justified text (the use of this is inconsistent) and or italic headings, but that's just me.

Need to add some full points/stops around the place, decide on all caps for headings or initial caps... and rejig the type over the picture on page 2... it's too tricky.

Sorry for possibly OTT review, but I cant help being a bit anal with consistency and readability etc. with typography.

Heidi

The only thing I would add would be your USP. For me, the logo doesn't tell me immediately what you do (I know the IT is in there, but I didn't get it straight away - I've only had two coffees this morning lol).

"IT solutions for your blah blah" or whatever your USP is, directly under the logo, would help I think.

Hi,
I think the flyer would work a whole lot better with some clearly defined focus.
It does not really have a good hierarchy. Great flyers pull the reader in with one clearly defined statement (be that a visual or sentence). This is then explained in more detail through a nice neat use of copy. It doesn't matter how small this is, but it should be legible and consistently set typographically.
Once you've said all you need to say (and no more) you need to sign off with a whacking great call-to-action.

So, think about what the purpose of this piece is. Is it introduction to the business? A promotion for new deal? Brand building? all of these?

You need to shape this so that your reader clearly understands at a glance what is where. "There is the logo" "there is the SINGLE proposition" "there is the explanation in some paragraphs" "there are some testimonials" "THERE is the call to action and contact". None of this is really that obvious in your current design without careful study.

One more simple thing, Don't be afraid to do it all one sided, use intriguing images (you can buy them cheap) - maybe a whole image on one side with your logo as a brand piece and the entire explanation on the back.
Sometimes images that communicate your business benefit (happiness, peace of mind, geek-love) are better than dusty old stock of IT stuff.
Get a designer. Someone who can communicate what you want your business to say through style - the message needs to work in a millisecond, don't assume people have time (or inclination) to read all about you. They don't. But keep it neat in case they want to.

Hope that helps and not hinders.

By the way, I know a great designer

I've seen so many flyers where people assume everyone knows where they are located and leave out the state, postcode or area code of the phone number.

In your case, please adjust your address to include state and postcode.
If you are looking for interstate customers that you can service through the net, they would have no idea where you were located. But need to know that a postal address is correct and that it doesn't matter if they are interstate.

can you explain this a bit more.. you mean P1 or P2? Or normal logo is more of a rectangle, but the circle was on this already.. and it fits on the first page with the way the addresses wrap around it a bit
I don't honestly know if I want it to be on the second page at all, but then.. there's no logo on the second page..

We've gone over the typography a bit and may make some more changes yet..

accepted & amended.

Because I work from home, i don't actually have the full address (I'm one of 45 units in a resi block) Do others think that matters ?
On my invoices and things like that, I do have a full postal address.

I'd get yourself a PO Box - Only about $80 a year and keeps your address private when you are doing marketing.

On the document I DL'd the logo is on both pages. I think the circle is fine. I just didn't feel as though the lower case "i" and "t" being scrunched into the space between the last two letters worked. For me, the initial feeling was "huh?"
