Default new sub-site

I'd like to know if you guys like the information that is presented (ie to little or to much) please remember it is a work in progress, main site is not ready as im not sure exactly what to put there yet, and will have other information about other services I will be attempting to start up..

is the sub-site to easily recognised as a template site (need to remove the "powered by wordpress" and template designer stuff) need to put copyright notice on bottom of pages.

what else might be of interest information wise?

sub-site is herehttp://taxi-cabs.niknjayservices.com.au/

thanx Jason

Hi Jason, hope this helps.
Your web name tells nothing about your services, so if you can have a sub text line saying something like - quality taxi services in the Ararat area, Victoria - that could help.

It appears that you are making the blog page the home page which is not a good idea. Make it a linked page like the others.

The About Me text should not be the first page.
The index page should automatically be the first page when someone types in the web address.

On the index (home) page you should have something about what the taxi services can do for you (i.e. the customer). You need to give the reader a reason to pick up the phone and call you. Have the phone number (with area code) also in the header. Someone else may give you an idea on the text for this.

It should also be clear about the area/s you service.

e.g. Quality taxi service ....... in the area of Ararat (Victoria) and surrounding areas.

The phone number should also include the area code - especially important if people are travelling to the area and enquiring about your services.

The problem is that most people would have no idea where you are. And you need the search engines to find words that link you quickly to searches.

I would have a Services page also.
And include service details like on this page (or whatever you provide) http://www.swantaxis.com.au/services.php

All the best.
Karen C.

thanks Karen C,

fixed up the area code on the Phone Number for the booking service.

I'll be working on the index page, however this wont be easy as I am only a taxi-cab driver not the owner/operator of the service in general, we are bound by the regulations set-out by the state government and the network service provider. The general information like area serviced/covered, facilities available (but not maybe part of what I can offer specifically ie WAT Wheelchair Accessible Transport i am not licensed for this type of vehicle yet).

That's ok Nik - my concern is that when people go to your home page they should have something there that tells them what you can do for them, not info about you.

You want them to pick up the phone or at least put the phone number in their contacts ready to call you.

Perhaps put a new post in asking what to say on the home page as an intro for your taxi service?

All the best.

Hi Nik,

Two approaches to try:

1) Pretend that you are a potential customer who has found the site but who knows nothing at all about you. What information would you want to know? What would you want to know *first*? What questions might you have -- better make sure these are all answered! Try viewing the site with a critical eye: I want a car to pick me up but why would I pick this guy?

2) Check out other sites that offer the same services -- not to copy them, but to see what information they have on their sites and to see how they communicate it. You don't need to have the best site in the world, but it would be good if it was at least as useful as some of your competitors' sites.

Cheers,
Peter.

Hi Nik,

Get the phone number top right header.

If getting a booking is the #1 goal of the website then have that as the call to action at every opportunity.

Don't make people go looking for it, they won't.

Maybe get some graphics of taxis in there so people are clear what the site is about.

A keyword rich domain would also let traffic know what your site is about.

Hope this helps :-)

Hi every one I would to know what people thought of my revamped website?
- Is it informative enough?
- Am I still missing the "convert to sales" component?
- Easy to understand?

Thanks for any feedback
