Default Issues with developer - would love some feedback

Hi everyone

I've had some major dramas with my website. The short story is that it's 8 months post deadline and I was sent a link to the site in it's 'finished' state and it had many features missing, was distorted in certain browsers, and had a lot of the demo Magento things still on it. After 8 months of being patient in an absolute nightmare experience, I finally demanded a refund. Tonight (3 weeks after requesting a refund) I looked at the link, and they seem to have done a lot of what I have asked.

They still haven't added content, product photos, payment methods (PP and Direct Deposit), and a few other things, however at the risk of delaying the site even further I am now trying to decide whether to continue trying for a refund or pay the remaining 50% to have it handed to me (and then pay someone else to get it in complete working order, and perhaps do some of it myself).

I'm worried about posting a link here but would love some feedback on the site. I've lost trust in these people and I'm not sure what I'm looking for to make sure it's actually worth paying for.

Please post below or PM me if you would like the link and I will send it through

Thanks in advance

Assuming the developer is not in Australia, getting a refund is not likely. If having your website operational is key to your business, delaying it going into production may hurt you more than getting it there, but waiting endlessly for it to be completed.

If you're 50% there, I would ask for everything to be handed over and be careful whom you choose to finish the site off.

Niks,

Didn't you post about this exact situation last week? Why post it again?

Just be sure to get it all, and in a format another person can use it. Welcome to send me link or email about the site. I have the people who did our site I can recommend if the job looks like something up their alley.

Michael

That's what I thought too...then I thought...hmm maybe it's a forum bug...or maybe he's gone insane due to the complexities of web development...or maybe it's a dastardly way to harvest the email addresses of unbeknowing web developers...

I don't think he replied to the thread in the other one either if I recall correctly...

I'm thinking this was cross posted at the same time (5 days ago).
