Default Website Review: How should i instruct people to contact me?

Hi Guys,
i'd appreciate it if I could get your opinions on what method to direct customers to contact my company.

Currently our website features an enquiry form on the side of each page (apart from the home page), but my feeling is that its overkill, the space could be better used with much-needed graphics on the page and that directing any enquiries to be made by phone allows for a better feeling for both parties as to whether the companies are right for each other.

Cheers,
Michael

Hi Michael

asking visitors to make an enquiry is just not going to work.... at least not enough to keep food on the table.

You need to create reasons for people to interact with you at least four or five times before they feel comfortable enough to give you their details .... and then I would only be asking for email address and first name for which you are giving some immediate reward.

As more and more information is given away for free on the internet it becomes harder to get people to opt in and that's where the skill has to come in.

Hi Warren,
thank you very much for your input - its greatly appreciated.

I agree with your thoughts 100%. Im currently on holidays, but when back my business partner and I plan to scrap the enquiry form on every page and redevelop the content of the site.

Thanks again,
Michael

Hi Michael,

Yep, I'd agree with getting rid of the contact form, at least on most of the pages anyway. It takes up quite a lot of valuable real estate and isn't necessary on every single page.

Cheers,
Anthony.

Hi Michael,

I agree with Anthony and Warrenc. Suggest a dominant telephone number top right every page. Interestingly, I know of a successful auditing company with one contact page and not a telephone number in sight. Their philosophy, it guarantees genuine leads and high conversion. I haven't been game to trial it, as in one area of my business 90% is via contact page but then conversion is less than 2%. You've got me thinking about the 80/20 rule and genuine leads. Thanks and Good Luck in what you decide.

Cheers,
Lee

Hi Michael,

Just another suggestion for you:

In the space where you currently have the enquiry form on the right, you could have a pull out quote in orange. You could put anything you like there really; like a client testimonial, a quote about what services you provide or even a question presented to the potential customer. This quote could change for each of your pages, but when clicked on could link to the contact us page where you would have your details and an enquiry form.

Something to consider anyway...

Good luck!
Bronwyn
