Default I'd appreciate feedback and suggestions on my website, please.

Hi,

The idea for a website that I asked feedback for a few months ago is up and running. The purpose of the site is to put people with the right skills and experience in touch with people who need work done at affordable rates

I'd welcome any comments, suggestions and constructive criticism about the site and the concept. The site is at www.work4me.com.au.

Cheers,

Chris

"It works 4 me!" is a bit hard to read (at 1900x1200 :P )

Your edge where dark meets light doesn't align up in FF 3.5.3 on Mac. Guessing it's part of the blue boxes border image, need to come up 2px.

Your billboard text could be a bit bigger. The size from the 2nd blue box would work well I think.

Otherwise I think it looks great!

Hey,

Website looks great! I even signed up, but seems to be pretty low on listings at the moment, but I'm sure that's something that will change with time.

I would prefer it if all of the categories and searching for work was more well-defined. For example, list them all in categories and sub-categories and perhaps with the current number of jobs in brackets, so people know where to look for all the listings.

Also, where are your revenue streams coming from for the website? I'm not sure I would want to pay if I was someone looking for a service to purchase, as at the end of the day, listings are what would ensure the website became worthwhile going to.

I think you could charge businesses around $100/year for the right to bid on certain projects. If it's a safe way for the business to guarantee that they will get work from it, then they'd be willing to pay to see the jobs. If I was a business paying, I'd see it a great advantage if you ensured that all the super-undercutting spammers weren't bidding (such as on freelance design websites)... but at the same time, ensuring there is a reasonable amount of legitimate competition to ensure the customer gets a competitive bid.

To tell you the truth, I'm liking every thing except the logo. The site looks professional, the logo looks amateur. Just my opinion.

Also its extremely low on links. Doesnt even appear on google at the moment. A waste of a good site!

I have to agree with iMack, site looks good, logo doesn't.

Cheers, Steve.

Hi Chris

I agree with the others too. I think your logo is letting the site down but GREAT concept! Perfect for small businesses and agencies. It's a service i would certainly use. Good Luck!

Hi All,

Thanks for the feedback.

A question on the logo; is it the actual design of the logo, the size in relation to the page or the resolution that is the problem?

Regards,

Hi Chris

I think it's then actual design - it looks like a scan of some scribble rather than creating an understandable brand. I think you need to get a designer onto it and try to express what the site is about a bit more. It's such a strong idea you want to give it every chance to succeed.

hope you don't mind my constructive criticism!
