There are a number of considerations some which have already been mentioned, others haven't.
Consider if you are going to own the company or use a trust. Company incorporation will cost c$500 per company, then there is all the tax file numbers and ABN registration required. Two companies will double these costs.
Operating two companies with shared costs and cross-charging from one to other is also going to add a layer of complexity that you could do without.
Having a company will add protection for you if it fails, having two companies may allow one to fail and the other to continue but then again if they are partially reliant on each other there is little benefit here.
