The front end is all custom, reading off a database that is updated daily. Cost quite a few $k to set up. Bookings are provided through a third party, I get commission.

I originally manually handled it all, but it got too big. If you are only doing for a town, then this would be the best option. Manually create pages and check on properties every month or so to add/update/delete as required. My suggestion is look which hotel booking providers have the most properties in your tow/district and do it that way. Better for SEO as well.

Im interested in the behind the scenes of your hotel booking service website, Im looking for something similar to it on a smaller scale.
so my questions are:
- is it a pre-developed software program?
- did you have to contact the hotels yourself? or is it some sort of central booking service operated via a clixgalore option? (Im thinking large scale hotel chains here for a clixgalore type arrangement).
- how easy is it to setup?
- how do the hotels know they have a booking through you? ie do they have to log in and check for any bookings made?
- do you receive the bookings and monies then forward the bookings to the hotels manually?
- how are you paid? ie commission, per lead, monthly rate?

reason for asking, is my township appears under represented (from what I have been able to figure out - but then maybe my searching isnt so crash hot )and thought setting up something similar (but for my township only) maybe useful.
