I was using Wave Accounting last year, but I didn't like that "income" was counted as what had been invoiced, not what had been received. As far as I'm concerned, it's not income until the money is in the bank!
I also looked at Freshbooks a while ago, but at the time it was $29.95p/month ($19.95 if you were in the US) and I wasn't prepared to pay 50% extra for the same service just because I was in a different country. Perhaps they've since changed this.
I'm also not a fan of ongoing monthly fees.
This financial year I've started using
Cashbook Complete which has a free version, a Lite version for a one-off payment of $60, or a full version for a one-off payment $120. I tried the free version for a short period and thought it was worth upgrading to the full version.
The templates are moderately customisable, but I like that I can also do bank reconciliations, BAS & GST (which it pre-fills for you) and offers quite a few customisable reports. For the price, I think it's a great option.
