Default FaceBook Welcome Page

Thought I would highlight the services supplied by the very talented Nicole Graham at http://www.hkcomputergoddess.com
Nicole, an expat from Sydney now living in Hong Kong, has recently set up my FaceBook welcome page (and a lot of other businesses that I know of from another forum) and will soon be doing the new website. Her work is awesome, she understands what your business is about and best of all it only cost $25, how good is that? Would love to hear your thoughts and of course new fans always welcome

$25!!! She's losing money on that, guaranteed. It would hardly even cover the typing time. Maybe she's doing it as a loss leader?

Whoops - first thought that was a dofollow link to the main site at first but no in fact its an invalid link to google maps, which is easily fixed.

Worth much more than the $25, that's just half a carton of beer!

Aidan, not sure what you mean by:

Whoops - first thought that was a dofollow link to the main site at first but no in fact its an invalid link to google maps, which is easily fixed.

Burgo, business pages are found via searches on facebook itself, also twitter and I also have the icon on all forum signatures. Fans on FB also talk about you and their fans can see your posts. Then there is the website (must get that happening) and some people are starting to put them out on their business cards too.

Hi Spotty,

Actually I edited the post just after writing but I was referring to the 'link' in the information box on your FB wall - it looks like a link to your site but is in fact not working.

I then saw your welcome page has a functional doFollow link.

You might want to get your friend to check all links over.

Follow links are better for SEO purposes than noFollow ones (noFollow is a tag that tells search engines to ignore the link, very common on many sites including forums like FlyingSolo and on blogs)

I'm hearing you Burgo, it has taken a while to get my head around Facebook but now I love it and spend way too much time there. Twitter is still a learning curve for me.

Aidan thanks I removed said link.

Facebook can be great for SEO ... and just another avenue for you to keep in touch with current and potential customers.

I might think about investing in that welcome page as I want to make my Facebook page for my biz "welcoming" so they will join.

You won't necessarily make money OFF or FROM Facebook as a lot of people use it as a personal resource however if you approach it as a social aspect of your business ("giving back to the community" sort of thing) then it can be of benefit to you in that way too (not just SEO for your website).

Thanks for the heads up!

I've got a link on my website and email sig. It is also wise to set up a domain name specifically for your facebook page or at least a sub directory redirect ( like mine www.goldcoastpets.com.au/facebook ) so it is easier for you to point people towards it

Thank you Spotty for your lovely feedback.

Kaca, yes initially I was offering Facebook Pages for $25.00 while I introduced people to my services. This price was for a basic, 1-2 image text customised tab.

Vanessa, yes you are right, Facebook is great for SEO.

Please note that this Introductory Price is no longer available.
