I am a professional video producer and, along with two others, (audio production and design and print) have started a small multimedia group (CentralCoast Media Group) who are getting the "networking" thing off the ground.
Yes, it a (very) small group at this stage but we are looking for others to join...particularly a photographer and web designer. But we are not limiting the possibilities in any way. Any soloist would be welcome to join this cosy group. It is basically to support each other, share ideas and filter work from each of our clients to the other members if relevant.
We meet every second Wednesday (June 24 2009 is our next one) at Bamboo Buddha, Wattle Tree Road Holgate at 11.30 for coffee and a light lunch and apart from the cost of the lunch, joining with us - as of June 2009 - is free. The only other fees (if you join with us officially and want to be included in the "group"), would be sharing the costs of website design/printing/promotion etc., which are usually small considering each of the members' abilities.
We have already found this group of great benefit, because it reduces the feeling of being alone and offers support for small business operators in these uncertain times. Sharing ideas over lunch is a terrific way to stay positive and focussed.
We would also be interested in liaising with any other groups.
