Just got a phone call from the 'free leader press' paper. I sent them a story about 'local business woman moves into town' and they're going to use it! They did an interview over the phone to add to the story and are sending a photographer out tomorrow for a photoshoot. They'll be talking about me as a business woman, author and photographer and some of the awards I've won, plus bringing up kids and working from home. I was fortunate to have Belgrave Bookstore accept to sell my books last week so I was able to say my books are stocked in the local bookstore. Hoping this will help establish me in this area as a business person and author and photographer.

How wonderful that you're getting some local exposure and they're doing a personal side to you as a business woman.

Thanks Jayne. Just yesterday I was reading how using awards you win as PR tools and I guess I've done exactly that. I've been nominated twice for Australian of the Year and am also listed in Who's Who of Australian Women 2009 & 2010. These things and a stack of other things make for human interest stories to newspapers.

Thank you to all who attended the last meeting. Our next meeting is proposed for Wednesday 12 May in Emerald (further details to follow).

Our April meeting revolved gaining exposure of our cause amongst the community. We discussed some marketing tools that we will look to implement over the coming months that will benefit all members.

I will be contacting group members over the next few days to discuss further. If you're interested in further information, please let me know.

Was so sorry I missed it but wasn't very well at all. Much better now but still coughing which is really annoying. I'll make a note in my diary of the next meeting.
