Default Social Networking

Hi

I recently update my facebook and twitter account and signed up to more social networks but there are questions that come up to my mind. Can it really help me find my target audience? Is anybody here achieve success through social networking?

Social Networking is one of those time things. The longer you do it, the more effective it is.

Just produce quality content and market like crazy. Eventually they'll come.

Social networking is first and foremost about connecting, not selling. Connect with others and you will develop invaluable relationships. From there your business will grow.

Best of luck.

Like other - relevant - pages on Facebook. Introduce yourself and your product / service to them. You can form really solid partnerships this way.

I run an eco-friendly cleaning business in Adelaide. There is an organic baby product retailer within my area of operation. They have a Facebook page. I liked it. I introduced myself and my business. They plugged me. I picked up 50 new likers in a day. Likers that are my target market, i.e. mothers that want what is best and safest for their young ones that live in this particular area.

I agree. Social Networking is all about engagement. Through getting connections with others, you can start to build a good relationship with them which is beneficial for your business in building its brand online.

Could not have put that better myself. One of the essentials of good business is good relationships. Good relationships promote recurring customers and new leads!

All the best,
Sean

Hi,

As per the above posts it's super important to create a relationship with Social Media likers or followers.

A great wat to do this is to give them something for free or at a large discount. Now I know this may not work for every business but the idea is to give something for free or discounted, this creates and helps build the relationship and they will remember you. Later you can upsell them a higher priced item or service.

Think of it this way, would you buy off a business just because you liked them on Facebook? Or would you buy off someone who gave you a free/discounted service or product that you liked?

The key here is that you have to impress your new client when you offer the freebie or discount. This way your in the door and they could become a new long term customer.

Thanks

I reckon that you must be 80% social in your interactions and 20% sales.

One of the Hardest things is growing a fan base this is where lots of people put the effort in for a while then give up and walk away thinking that social media has been a waste of time.

Adverts are a very expensive way to attract new followers and lots of other ways seem that you can put 100% effort in and get a very low return.

I want to suggest a site called Aussie Fan Swap, I've been using it for 2 weeks and everyday I Get new followers and fans to my pages. It's completely Free to use all they ask in return is you go through the directory and like pages that interest you while you are on the website.

Check it Out I think the website is australian like exchange or aussie fan swap

For me, I caution using the freebie bit as a long-term strategy.

If you are in a highly competitive industry where every company is using the freebie strategy, then sooner or later, all of them will face relentless downward pressure on price. This problem is particularly acute in the information/blogging industry where companies are giving out more and more free content to attract clients, customers and attention. Pretty soon, everyone start to give away their crown jewels. The end result- you work harder and harder and get less and less in financial return unless you happen to be the top-dog.

I agree with you on that.
But also, pricing within a market or field will fluctuate no matter what. Just like the stock market. Someone wil lget sick of making no money, and up their price for more profit, more will follow. etc
