Default intro ang advice

Hi guys,
great forum this, i run a promotional products business based in Melbourne, i have been in it for arouind 12 years and been reasonbly sucessfull over that time, but i'm at a crossroads, the business needs a vision for the future, and a rehsape my issue is i don't know if i want to keep going in this business, although can't think of anything else that may interest me either.

Do you think its possible to rediscover tha passion and take a business forward? any tips and advice would be most welcome.

Cheers
Chris

Hi Chris

I understand the 'falling off the passion train' thing. Question to ask yourself before you can answer anything else is:

Why did I lose passion in the first place ('when' can help some but be sure to get to root cause not the symptoms)?

Did you sell your aims and integrity out somewhere "just to keep things going"? This is a common one. It happens in small ways where you let a poor customer slide instead of sacking their looting ass back to the Viking ship they rowed in on.

If you can't find this yourself a good strategist or business mentor (who is prepared to act as a therapist) can help you here.

All the best

That analogy REALLY made me laugh. Also, for some unknown to me yet reason, Benedict, I keep thinking you'd make a great celebrity gossip columnist ... :-)

Anyway, this is very good advice. Even when you love your work, doing it 24/7 (as I have been for months ... years actually) is enough to burn you out. Recharge time is very necessary as is a fresh perspective. If you cannot furnish it, take a break and/or get outside help.
