Hi everyone! My name is Veronika and I've been toying with the idea of starting an internet based store for a while. I'm here to learn as much as I can before diving into the business world. I don't have a corporate or business background, so this is all new territory to me. Any tips on where to get started, as well as how to do reliable market research, are more than welcome.

Hi Veronika,
Welcome aboard!
There are lots of successful online retailers in the FS community so a good read of past posts will reveal lots of wisdom.
All the best with developing the idea.
Cheers
Peter

Hi Veronika,

I started my web design business 2 years ago, after being a stay at home Mum for 10 years. I had an IT background before, but had no business background like you. It took me a while to get started and was lucky to have a few business people (family and friends) who were willing to let me build websites for them. I had to do lots of learning to pick up new skills as well as learn about running a business.
There are lots of free information from helpful people out there - blogs, forums (flying solo is one of the best ones in Australia), etc. One tip is to ask questions in forums where there are lots of discussions and replies. You can learn so much. Also, bear in mind not to sign up for something that is too good to be true. Keep looking and you may be lucky to find similar information somewhere else for free.

All the best to you!
