Default Hello! And can anyone help re facebook?

Hi there, oooo my first forum, how exciting! Have been a Flying Solo fan and member for a few years now but haven't delved into the forums as yet. Robert suggested someone here may be able to help with my query.

I have a business called Hens Treasure Hunt and I have figured out how to create a business page on Facebook but can't get the username address happening. I can do it for me personally but can't figure out how for the business. I want to print the address on new business cards so hens can find me as follows: www.facebook.com.au/henstreasurehunt. I know this is possible as one of my competitors has it. Any social network gurus out there that can help?

Thanks in advance for any tips!

Hi Gilian,
I'm not sure if this will work for the business pages, but regular users can set the username at http://www.facebook.com/username/

Hope that works for you.

Cheers,
Mike

Yes, drop the .au. Facebook is a .com

Before they started doing the personalised addresses I simply purchased a domain name and pointed that to my business page. That might be an option for you too? For example, mine is http://www.kathiemthomas.com

Hi Gillian,

With facebook business pages you need to have a minimum of 100 fans before you can claim your personalised URL.

Hope that helps.

Cheers
Nicole

Hi Gillian,

Obtaining a vanity name for your Facebook is very easy.

Log into your facebook account. Open this link: http://www.facebook.com/username/ and click the link "SET A USERNAME for your pages". If you have more than one, select the one that you wish and follow the prompts.

If you need further assistance please let me know.

Yours sincerely,

It's about 40, then you go to the url and set it! (In concrete I may add)

I'm not sure there is a limit anymore - I have 39 fans to http://www.facebook.com/NumberzSyd and was able to select the username. I think when they started the pages there was a 100 fan requirement.

But thanks for the posts, it reminds me I should really keep use my page and keep it up to date!

I'm pretty sure you need a 25 fan minimum before they give up the vanity link.

Just a word of warning, make sure you get the spelling correct for your username, because once you confirm the name -that's it! You can't edit it after the fact.

Hmmmm... I think the requirement is that you have 1000 fans...or has it changed? Take a look at this:
