Another fresh face

Hi there everyone,
I just thought I would introduce myself after just signing up. My name is Mat and since finishing university in July this year I have decided to go into business with my brother (equal partnership). The business is primarily Computer Repairs/Upgrades with potential to move into setting up home network packages (including cabling, power points etc through a qualified electrician) and Solutions (more of a consultation on what hardware and software is required for specific tasks/functions).
The main reason we decided to do this was that we have both had around the 6years+ experience in service based industries and find that we can offer exceptional service. The synergy the pair of us create aswell is very hard to beat. We work very well together and have a mixture of qualifications.
I look forward to getting some more information up as it comes to hand. The business plan is almost finished and we are close to finishing all the initial paperwork.

Sounds like you and your brother will work excellent as a team, and equally have complimenting personalities.

The industry you are getting into is fairly competitive.. how do you plan to separate yourself from your competitors?

A few ideas so far are connecting to university students through help desks which can only help with university related issues and would happily refer to a third party (us). So we would simply have a brochure or business card on offer through these help desks. We are also looking at creating networks with contacts in similar areas (ie when a computer is bought we could come home and set it up intially).

Any further suggestions or ideas would be great.
