Here's my idea!
Hi there, I am very new to this and equally new to the 'business world'. So, here's where I am in the world of 'starting up'. Myself and family have just emigrated from England. Husband and I both nurses. I have been pondering the idea of running my own business for ages now and feel that a new start in this lovely country should be the place to get going.
In England my job title was Clinical Nurse Specialist - Stoma care. This, in a nutshell is the care of patients about to, or having undergone stoma formation (colostomy, ileostomy, urostomy etc). The job was hospital based but we also went out to the patients home when they were discharged and then, if need be, made repeat home visits. This does not happen on the Sunshine coast. The Stomal therapists are hospital and clinic based and do not do home visits. I feel I have discovered a void in the system which I would really like to fill by means of private nursing. I have ideas about how I would target my audience but my main concern is insurance and the legalities of it all. Any advice will be greatfully welcomed. After 20 years of nursing I have thick skin and broad shoulders!
Cheers
Oh yes, by the way, any ideas for business names for me as not sure about putting the word 'stoma' in the business title or perhaps 'specialist nurse' is more private for the patient.
