Default Former lurker comes clean

Hello fellow soloists

I have a dirty confession..... I'm a forum lurker and have been lurking around here for a while without joining in. Oh the shame.

But hey it's a new site and I thought it about time to jump on in and get involved.

My name is Ivan and I run Flow Interactive a full service one-stop-shop helping business to make the most out of technology and being online, from graphic design, web design through to online marketing and strategy.

I love technology and look forward to sharing ideas and information with you all.

Speak to you all soon!

Helo Ivan.

Looks like your in my field.

What are your thoughts on CS5.
The jump between CS3 - CS4 wasn't a massive step.

However I've heard very good things about CS5.
Most importantly the transition from Indesign or Illustrator to web?
For many Graphic Designers learning flash wasn't fun...
It's like taking everything you've learnt in design and throwing it out the
window to write code. YuK!!

Anywho, do you think CS5 is a go out and get it NOW!
or just wait until the dust settles?
I'm going to the video tutorials now.

Cheers in advance Dan.

Hi Dan,

I was pretty happy with the changes from CS3 - CS4 ...

Multiple artboards in illustrator was a huge one for me as was non destructive filters in photoshop.

Let me know what your thoughts are on CS5.

Hey Jake.

I did go from CS3 to CS4.
Indesign was the biggest winner for me, personally as it is my bread and butter. Exporting a swf file with animated page curls was a revelation.
Also, intelligent align tools and spaces made creating an accurate document much easier and faster.
However having said all of that, did CS3 to CS4 really make my life that much easier? No, I don't think it was enough of a jump to release an entire new Creative Suite. It should have just been a few updates.

It seems Adobe create a few "New Tricks" and then release a new Software package to try and Cash in on the "New" software. I too like to stay up with technology and basically can't help myself. I have to get CS5. hehe, its a tax deduction and all anyway.

Cheers Dan.

Yeh, agreed.

I suppose they kind of work like apple did with Ipods, even though they had the technology for nano's + video Ipods, they didn't release them so people would buy more.

Hi Ivan,
Yeah I agree - the lovely new site is a great opportunity to start interacting. Now that you have stopped lurking do you have a plan of action?
Hope you don't mind me suggesting - step 1 - might be a good idea to get a signature block and add your social media links (Facebook and twitter etc ) if you have them. If you don't I suggest you get them.. All contributes to your building your online brand and profile.
Looking forward to finding out more about what you do.

Hi Ivan, I am using CS5 for everything and I'm glad I upgraded early this time. It was the easiest upgrade I've had and I began with the original CS. So far, no probs. There are good changes and additions.
It's like CS4 but with extras so you can learn smoothly to use the extras and just open CS4 files directly into CS5.

Cheers.
