Hi Richie,

Test out some ideas like the ones people have mentioned. You can keep your eyes open on Flying Solo and other places for people who want to have a coffee once a week and talk about their businesses. You could join LinkedIn and search for people within a few kilometres of your postcode.

We have started meeting the few Canberra members on an irregular basis, which is getting more regular as we get more people.

I like the mentoring group that was mentioned, and I am just setting up a "Board" for my business, which is in fact a just three or four people who have good ideas for my business and also are able to keep me on track (including my accountant) - and we aim to meet once per two-months.

Kevin

Hi Richie,

There are lots of free networking events in Melbourne. You might want to have a look at some on meetup.com as well.

Where in Melbourne are you?

Cheers,

Hi Richie

I had the same problem when I first started back in 2004. I think working solo was the toughest part but for me it was making sure I had 1-2 different people to meet up each week, may they be clients, mentors, networking meetings, etc. It's all about learning, growing, sharing and referring at the end of the day and we still keep to that principle to this very day.

I'm not sure where about you are in Melb but if you're around The Glen, would love to catch up over a coffee to help start you off.

Cheers
Irwin
