Default Foodie Traveller gets serious

Hello all,

My good friend and I have recently decided to become business partners. We chose to focus on something we are passionate about, good food and drink!

Even though starting a new business can cause sleepless nights, I wouldn't trade what we have already learned for anything. If you had told me a year ago that I would have written a business plan and worked out an event budget, I wouldn't have believed you. Best of all, the good friend and I have managed to stay friends after becoming business partners!

Following is a bit about P & P events:

Do you like great food? Great wine? Fabulous fresh local produce? Would you like to know more about food and wine pairing? Where your food comes from? The paddock to plate philosophy? Or Meet the Maker? Do you want to be a part of amazing provincial pleasures and food and drink experiences?

So did Sarah and Laura. That’s why we created P & P Events to be a link between provincial producers of fantastic food and drink and you.

Welcome to P & P Events – a unique food and drink Event Planning company that offers VIP Service solutions to businesses and individuals. Our professional and devoted staff specialise in corporate and special occasion food and drink planning for groups of all sizes in a provincial setting. We aim to eliminate all the stress related to organising any type of social or corporate event.

With P & P Events, everything is at your fingertips and completely customised for your individual needs.

Thanks everyone for your time and thanks to Flying Solo for this site and forum!

Hi Laura, Welcome to the forum.

Whilst I am sure your business is very hard work (what business in hospitality isn't), it also looks like soooooo much fun. Good luck and enjoy!

Cheers, Rhys

Thanks Rhys,

As you say, all business is hard work but I can't imagine a better way to spend it than enjoying great food and wine! I am such a lucky woman!

Hi Laura,

Welcome to the gang, and thanks for saying such lovely things about Flying Solo =)

Like Rhys, I'm a bit jealous of your new venture. How fabulous to have an excuse to indulge every day!

Tried to check out your website, but am sorry to tell you it's not working at the moment, so I'll try again during the week.

Jayne

Thanks Jayne,

Looks like it is time to find a new company to handle my web hosting. So any suggestions would be appreciated. By far and away the most aggravating part of running a business so far!

Hi Laura,

Welcome to the boards, and congratulations on your successful business.

I always hear you shouldn't go into business with a friend, but I too started a business with a friend and we still are doing great another 2 years on. I think as long as you are clear and structure things well there shouldn't be any major issues you can't resolve. Also pays to have regular meetings to discuss just the business (aside from the actual work, eg, direction, purpose, goals etc) and ensure you are still both heading/thinking in the same direction.

All the best, cheers,
Mike

Hi Jake,

Almost afraid to say it but it looks like we are back up! Of course I just read hear that I now should be putting contact information on each page so will be doing some updating but it shouldn't keep anyone from being able to visit!

Thanks everyone,

Laura

Hi Mike,

I'm really lucky that Sarah and I have the same vision for our business.

BTW - just checked out your website and I am sooooo ordering a hammock! The one I had totally died and as I know the weather will eventually improve you are the man to see! They are fantastic!

Hi Laura,

Congratulations on getting the website back up. It is looking good, and I wish I was in Melbourne and able to get to one of your dinners!

Good luck with everything,
