Has this networking group actually started as yet? I've started to go to the local Sawubona networking meet, 1st Friday of every month, in Mooloolaba (place called Karma Waters). Nice like minded people there.

I have been thinking of trying to organise a meeting...BUT the problem is finding a venue.

I am a member of another type of group and we struggle to find a venue to accomodate more than 6 or so people without charging. ie: 10 people wanitn to hog a cafe table for 90 mins or so without buying more than just cofee and cake is met with many sighs and "table clearing""

Now, as a business owner I can understand this.................so (sunny coasters) where can we meet that is not rude to a business owner but doesn't cost a fortune????

Does the Caloundra Chamber of Commerce have any space and is anyone a member? They want $110 a year to be a member, surely there should be some benefits.

There are a couple of pubs that are casual enough during week nights that we should be able to get away with it:

Kawana Waters Hotel, Penefarthing or CBX in Caloundra might be do-able. Penefarthing in particular always seems to have a lot of tables unoccupied.

You are right the pubs have plenty of space....but from experience they are just a bit noisy to have a decent meeting. Kawana Waters Tavern is not too bad for a lunch meeting on the back deck though.

You're absolutely right. Kawana would be the only suitable venue of the three.
