Hi all! The next get-together is definitely on, details as follows:

Time: 11.30am
Date: Wednesday 7th July
Venue: The Stafford Tavern, 51 Webster Rd, Stafford
Cost: Just your own lunch (optional)

As per usual, this is a business networking lunch with a difference. The emphasis is on the social aspect, but please do bring business cards and if you like, a flyer (even one typed up and printed yourself) to explain your business.

Just noticed that last month there was a meet-up, and wondering on how that went ?

If anyone went to the last meeting, can you please tell me a little about whether it is worth the time and effort to go along ?

As a Brisbanite myself I'm looking to network with other businesses, so hoping that this might be a valuable avenue to make new business friendships.

Oh, I see this is a lunchtime thing - just wondering if an evening event would be possible at a later stage ?

Hi Brad

The last get-together was small, just 5 of us. The idea of it all is to be a social event more than a heavy-handed business event. In my experience (and others have said the same), sometimes it can be more fruitful to develop a social rapport with another business person. By interacting without expectation, it makes for a far more easier to transition to business relationship if and when it does occur.

We had a great time at the last one. Those who want wine, have wine. Others wanted lunch, still others just wanted a coffee. There is no fee to attend; just buy whatever you want to eat or drink. We exchange business cards, talk about what we've been doing lately, and ultimately, a bit of brainstorming ends up happening.

It'd be a pleasure to see you at the next one but if you can't make a daytime event, then I think it's time to run a night time one anyway. I'll make that the August get-together.

I've gotta tell you how much I love this initiative of yours of taking a photo at all your lunches. I am hoping that the other meet-up groups are following suit, and have my fingers crossed that Patrick and Peter have taken their cameras to FS@JS in Sydney tonight!

Hi Jayne, thanks! I just forgot to get myself into one of them, and two others arrived after the photo festivities lol.

I think it's also a good idea to post the details of those who attended so that everyone can see who's coming along. Many of the attendees today had never even visited the FS site, but I'm sure they will now! Those of us who were there extolled FS's virtues very well .
