The fact that you have visitors and people wanting to spend money with them should be a VERY compelling arguement for them.

On your marketing materials, webiste and face-to-face explain that this is targeted marketing to people with cash and ready to spend, compared to other forms of advertising, often to a broad market and with very little return.

Also compared to the cost of advertising in a bridal magazine etc, $200 is very very low.

I think a free trial is a good option with auto bill after 30 days but I wouldnt drop your prices too low. You want people to see you offer a high quality product.

Thank you kindly Tom!

I'm working toward putting these ideas in place - Much appreciated

Hi Jeanette - your listings are similar to some other online listings where they make a business choose a state or area.

For myself and many others, we do not like having to nominate an area as our market is national not necessarily local, and so many small businesses can't afford to advertise in x amount duplicate of areas. Yellow Pages does the same thing which is why I didn't renew.

The idea someone mentioned of a basic free listing is good also, but I realise it's the web software that is a limitation at present.

Hang in there, and keep on plugging. Cheers.

I think from a business point of view it would be good to know what the potential target market is i.e. the current number of brides members.
Perhaps something similar to what we see here on FS, "XYZ number of members".

Can you reveal what this number is currently ?

Hi Karen,

I hear what you're saying and I guess the reason I've kept a national listing to a very minimum cost. In comparison Bridal Discount Book compared to many similar advertising portals you'd pay 3 times more.

National businesses having the ability to list in every state & region also requires much more (space) to put it in an easier form than a state listed business. Therefore there are more costs involved for me as a business with hosting, bandwidth etc - Does that make sense?
I don't know how Yellow pages works etc but I'd imagine if there is more space required there are also more costs involved for the company?

Thanks for your input though & allowing me to see another side

All the best

Jeanette

Hi travelmaster,

I was highly recommended not to take that form of action with my type of service (no offence to FS, I think in this situation it works perfectly).

The reason being is I was told it can cheapen a site like mine and on researching every other website with similar service applications they haven't either so there must be something to it?!

I'm not one to stick to the mould though hence why Bridal Discount Book has applications that no other wedding advertising portal does so it is something I will reconsider down the track

All of BDB's web stats & traffic can be found on the site and they in themselves I feel are quite impressive

Cheers

Jeanette
