What Chicken S**t And Poor Circulation Have In Common
Today I did something I wasn't proud of.
I cancelled a booking I'd made on a room I was going to use for a seminar to promote my marketing consulting services.
After I'd drummed up enough courage to actually go ahead with it, I got cold feet (that's where the poor circulation bit comes from) and come Monday morning, I emailed Wayne, who had been so courteous to me, and told him that I couldn't follow through due to "an unforeseen circumstance."
I completely chickened out.
And I guess it was just a lack of confidence in my marketing ability. I put up a landing page for the event but I didn't think that I could get the 100 people I wanted coming to the event.
And frankly, I didn't have the experience I needed under my belt. At the time, I'd only been doing some "soft" consulting with a client who was paying me on contingency (who I hadn't help make any sales for yet). I did have a paying client yet.
I guess the lesson learnt here is two-fold:
1. don't bite off more than you can chew,
2. even though realistic people never get anywhere far in life, it's still important to be realistic as an entrepreneur.
Cheers,
-Johnson.
