Hi, I think one of the best ways to get an understanding of this is to speak to people in the know. They usually can tell you the ins and outs.

On my first working day, my boss told me, if i cannot get two fresh customers within 3 months, then he will kick me out. Even bad, no any help from my collegues, no e-business platforms( they are for the formers).
I feel panic now. I do not how to start my sales with only free b2b, web engines. Our company is mainly in rubber and plastic parts. But it has no its brand. All are for other companies' OEM.
Meanwhile, thank u! henryroosa

Lol.. seems like you're in for a challenge Have you just started the job? I suggest calling businesses up, cold calling, writing a script, arranging appointments so you could discuss with them further. Good luck with your job!

Thanks for your kindest suggestion. I do make a challenge to my ability to develop new customer with free website. It looks difficult and they are too many information for me to choose and too many things need to do. I can not make a best choice now. Everything is by nature.

it is not a easy thing if have no any plantform(not free). you know in china, most of the export company depend on the b2b plantform such as alibaba, gloabal resource, made in china etc. they are all need to pay and not a small amount, even so , not every factory or company can find more clients. many clients do not want to do business with the free members. they think they are unreliable.
analyse your target market and clients then find your own way, god will bless you.lol

I think the problem with sites like alibaba, global resource & made-in-china is that they are so flooded with middlemen agents trying to pretend to be manufacturers & factories that serious importers don't trust those sites or even trust that those suppliers even have the goods on hand - and most don't indicate prices on their items. These sites would be more useful and trustworthy if the suppliers gave an indication of unit prices per different quantities (such as: 1-20 units = $100each; 20-50 units = $80each 50-80 units = $60each etc... rather than having to wait for an email quote 2 weeks later etc. That way potential buyers can compare and bargain on the spot and suppliers have an idea of what their competitors sell prices are... It would also be good if there were some feedback options for the suppliers (like what ebay does) - lots of good feedback from previous buyers goes a very long way... anyway - just a thought :-)
