Default Email database swap

Hi,

I have a quite large database of 55,000+ which I would like to grow.
I wonder if someone would be interested in finding a way to grow each others databases?

Your post title raised warning flags.

Be careful not to contravene spam laws by providing your list to a third party if your subscribers have not given express permission to do so. (or the person who may share their list with you).

Otherwise a good idea.

Yeah when you mention swapping databases I think raises ethical/legal questions. You can just go around swapping databases with people as a means to grow your list of contacts.

Hi Fredrikj,

The others are right of course about risks with doing this regarding SPAM and privacy laws. You definitely don't ignore those!

You can still do things creatively though and be 'safe'. Eg. you and one or more other businesses promote each other at the bottom of your regular emails to you customers. You see this happening when affiliate marketing companies promote other company products on a rev share basis.

So get creative - find some complimentary businesses and create a win-win situation.

Rather than swapping databases, why no look at inserting content into each other's newsletters or email sends?

It is a common practice when using rental databases from places like those survey membership sites, you rent their list, they send but the object of the exercise is to get people to respond so you get legitimate access to the email address (or mobile number if for future SMS).

Enticements can include free membership, chance for a prize, free information, access to a discount coupon etc.

If your databases include mobile numbers, I can help with sending and list management. Just PM me.
