Default Anyone else here use fiverr.com?

Hi
was wondering if anyone else here uses fiverr.com? I have purchased a few gigs from there, and have found it is a bit hit and miss.

Have bought ones that add links to websites, distribute flyers, write batches of articles etc.

I thought it might be a good idea if we shared our successful fiverr gigs here.
I will start with my favourites, the ones that have gotten me the best results, please share yours here as well

Logo with link in a monthly newsletter
travel / Australia dofollow link on the links page of my PR3 Australia travel site
fully finished travel article, totally original, already written and ready to go
post your banner or text link on the HOMEPAGE of my PR3 local classifieds web site that gets 4000+ page views
post on Craigslist 3 ads with my own pva account so you can sell your items or job services on craigslist

I find fiverr a bit hit and miss but it is great fun. And at that cost - why not? One of my favourite ones at the moment is "I will record your message in the awesome voice of Sean Connery for $5"

There is an interesting alternative called Freelancer - if you have a specific thing you need to do.

www.freelancer.com

Although I have never used it myself I do know many people that have used Freelancer. With Freelancer you post a project (pretty much any kind of project) and people will submit a brief and a quote to do it.

Then you sort through the submissions and choose the one you like.

Look through some of the categories here:

http://www.freelancer.com/sellers/

You could do an ad campaign, viral marketing, publicity stunts, mobile website, lead generation - anything you can think of.

There is also nothing stopping you from coming up with your own category.

It can be very cost effective and it lets you tap into an amazing marketplace of talent.

Both are very hit and miss... Long long time ago I used freelancer and it created a massive mess for a large project i lost 2K from the freelancer from Freelancer

All those sites are the same though Hit and Miss.. the Miss could cost you dearly though

I've had mixed success with Fiverr. At the price point of $5, I figure it's very low risk and has helped me find a few people I use regularly for various marketing tasks.

Other alternatives are Odesk and Elance.

I use elance on a weekly basis for various design, administrative, and web programming tasks. They have a great reviewing system, and you can really get a sense of what people are like before you hire them. Out of dozens of experiences, I've only had one bad experience with a provider.

I've also found a virtual assistant that I've been working with for nearly a year that is extremely reasonably priced and helps me immensely with marketing administrative tasks.

Highly recommended.

I find Fiverr great, and any outsourcing site for that matter.

Putting yourself in a position with these services that result in you risking or losing money would really require a rethink of your own business process.

Except for small one off logo or video intro jobs, I never outsource anything that I cannot do myself. This means if at worst all I need to do is tidy the project up and all I lose is time, as they are a leverage option not a replacement for a specialist.

For $5/project you cannot go wrong - and make sure you are specific on your expectations for the project ie. explain it as if the outsourcer is a well educated 10 year old.

I use Fiverr to get likes to a new facebook page so I can claim the personalised url, or for nice looking video intros for my web videos etc.

As tempting as it may seem, stay away from SEO and backlinks etc as you do not know where they are coming from, and could cause irreparable damage to your site ranking.

Cheers & have a great day!!

I've used it a few times for my new business and I've found it okay for getting likes on my FB page but it hasn't been very good at turning likes into business.

At $5 it is very low risk and thought it worth a shot.
