Default Video Selling

Hi All

Just thinking of adding a You Tube feed to my website, do you think that a video of a product with all the benefits would help sell more than just a picture?

Has anyone done this?

Thanks

G

If the video is well-made, definitely!!! If it's not, it may backfire and downgrade your company's credibility. Think bad advertising...

People are inherently lazy. We prefer to sit back, watch and be told why we should buy your product rather than doing our own research (reading, clicking, look at pictures) when we need the product.

Just make sure, in your awesome video, let people know why your product is better than your competitors'. Otherwise, you're just helping advertising theirs too.

it will help no end.

a pictures a thousand words and videos are at least a million.

you can also put quite a lot of SEO effort into each video which will help rankings.

DEFINITELY do it!

videos will almost always help any product (and even some services) give a clearer understanding to potential clients.

video's are not only product demo's but also testimonials

client feed back on video is very powerful, If you don't have fancy editing software and your doing it yourself then keep in really really simple and make sure the lighting it great

yes I thing demonstrating how safe your locks are would work better than an image

show people trying to tamper with the locks to see if they can get it opened

I have just finished creating my first video - it is still a work in progress, but have shared it on my facebook page if anyone wants to have a look. First time for me using windows movie maker, and haven't edited the sound, or got everything 100%, but I think as mentioned, it goes a lot further to explaining what we do than 'we stuff envelopes'

I did. At first I tried shooting the stand in a studio but it just didn't seem as though it was going to turn out all that great. Fortunately the 3d model I had made to pre visualise my design ended up looking pretty much like the actual model because the textures and design were pretty basic. I then used the freedom that is inherent in 3d animation and did a quick run through of all the features of the display stand combination. Whipped up a funky track and voila!
You can see it here...
(no video embedding?)

Looks like those locks wouldn't be too hard to model and animate. Let me know if you think you might be interested.

As long as your benefits are meaningful to your intended audience. keep it short like a commercial Tv (under 3 minutes, preferably less than 1 minute) with part 1 of the video.

Part 2 can be as long as you like as long as it proves that you understand your customer's problems and how your solution can buy them time, money at discount, friends, envy of brother in law, make u beautiful, feel healthy, cure cancer, eliminate baldness, gives you unlimited energy, bionic arms, etc

All the best.

I would include (if possible) how easy it is to transport- does it fold up- is it easy to put on a plane

@Visionlux - Really like the video, soundtrack is very cool. Good choice!

Back to the OP - If you can put together a good quality video it will absolutely help with conversions, sales, and overall customer engagement... The statistics on how positively people react to online video are unbelievable!

The key is to make sure that it looks very professional, and is entertaining...

One option that I offer my customers is an animated video which can be very appropriate and also entertaining in many circumstances... Feel free to take a look at some recent examples here:

and also

If you're interested in going down that road feel free to contact me, I may be able to give you some advice on what's involved.

Fair call. I had been wondering if the music might be too :ahem: "lively" for my market. I had more of an apple ipod commercial in mind which to my ear, are pretty rocking.

Good points on the transportation issue. This stand was originally intended to be just one part of an overall hire package (animation, TV and stand) and then when I finished the animation I tagged a buy outright price at the end thinking more about shop owners. Considering that my first push will be towards the hire package I think I'll change the end to reflect that.
I'm pretty sure that this would fit into something the size of a surfboard bag so no, it won't be carry on but it could go with all the other special items.

Thanks for the input.
