Default Ghost blog writing

I've been asked to write a ghost blog post - in other words, I write it but it's accredited to someone else.

I feel honoured to have been asked, but I'm not sure what to "charge". It's a favour and not a service I plan offering, so I wasn't going to actually invoice the person.

And obviously I won't get a link back to my site as a normal guest post would.

What could I ask in return? What would you expect?

Thanks.

Oh boy.. there's a question! I guess charge whatever you feel comfortable with. You could base that on your normal rate, or half/twice/80% of that , or you could settle for a nice bottle of red. Or can this person repay the favour with a shout-out for your business in any way?

If you truly want to do it as a favour and not worry about payment at all, then knock your socks off! Again - it has to be what you feel comfortable with.

All the best with the blog. Having read your own blogs, I know you'll do a terrific job!

Cheers,
Anna

"favours" are hard to charge for, or at least hard to charge for correctly?

maybe half what you normally charge?

maybe just do it for free (for a couple of articles) and just have those favours "in your hat" for if you need for them to do a favour back for you. (if their business is applicable).

if the writing is easy (ie topic and style) doing it may not be so hard to do.

just my thoughts.
