Advertising competition!

This forum has been great with me during the last couple of years and it is kind of a community within the community.

This is why I fell it is the best place to try this out:

The first ever Flying Solo advertising competition, where we you can pitch your best ideas as copywriter, marketing guru, sales master or a well informed community member.

We talk about marketing day in and day out but can you really create the best ad?

The plan is to try and find the best advertising idea for this ad.

We will select the best 3 ideas from this thread and put them to the test. Click like on the ones that you LIKE.

The task is simple we need the copy for a text ad and the winning ad is the one that gets the most clicks from readers.

The price is still to be determined but will be of value of $200

I would really love to get some feedback on that and would love if the lovely forum moderator can help with spreadin the word :-)

I will add the specific details for the ad length.

Yeahee.. we have our first contestant.

The idea is to create an ad for our micro business management software (accounting software) something that will talk to our target market (the flying solo community in this instance), about the challenges in managing your books, about the product solution (see my signature) etc

I guess anything that will get (the right people) to visit the site will be considered a success.

Thanks! there was some confusion with Flying solo ads - but we will definitely run these ads if we get the ideas.

Please assume a 200 characters limit for the copy. IF we get a few participants within the next week or two, we ask people to LIKE within the same thread. (or we create a new thread for that) and than we will run the 3 selected ads somewhere (flying solo,google ads,our website, or other sites - any ideas welcome)

The top converting (clicking) ad copy out of the selected 3 will WIN.

I thought it will be really cool to try and run a real live test. (and plus I might end up with some good ideas - but you know how cheap ideas are, LOL- it's
all about the execution )

Forgive me for being a cynic but why would anyone want to submit their ideas to you on the off chance of getting $200.00. You end up with lots of ideas that you haven't paid for and the writer(s) or most of them end up with nothing except expending their valuable time on providing you with something for nothing. Running a competition like this appears to be a sneaky way to fox people into helping you for nothing. Sorry but count me out.

I don't think there is anything 'sneaky' about it - my intention was obvious. I don't know how much you charge for 200 letters but I can tell you that I can (and I have) find a LOT of copywriters that will be happy to do it :-)

My intention was to take benefits of the community aspect of this forum, I am reading this forum every day, I know a lot of the people here (some personally) and I am trying to learn about marketing as well as about the community itself.

This is why I thought it will be a good idea. I didn't try to scam poor copywriter of their hard earned words, LOL

I guess other people have had similar thinking and were feeling that this is a scam, I do apologise for this. I thought I was being transparent.

That's ok, not all my ideas are good ideas.

Sorry Nominal, it's just that the whole deal seems very heavily in your favour, that's all.

Reminded me of a website run by a very well known publisher, who keeps budding authors feverishly engaged on their website, with just the mere promise of their transcripts being published one day, when in reality very few ever have been actually published during the site's entire existence.
