Default What is the easiest way to get rid of 73 wooden balance bikes

Hi guys not sure the best place to post this but I bought loads of wooden balance bikes last year when I was planning on selling my business and running and online store. The sale fell through so I've ended up with these bikes.

I'm still selling them via my wooden balance bike site and ebay but the problem is I hate doing it. I hate going to the post office and dealing with orders etc I just want them gone so I can focus on my main business again.

Any ideas? I've tried contacting other ebay sellers about buying the lot off me, even at cost price but no interest.

Thanks in advance if you have any ideas.

Dan

have a buy in bulk cost plus name the supplier that you got them from when they purchase the rest of your stock

do you want to get all your money back- or cut your losses and get rid of them all

I've seen kids on these - pretty cool.

What about contacting local pre-primaries, day care centres etc. You might find a national chain of day care centres willing to take them off your hands.

Hi guys thanks. The bikes are pretty cheap I don't think they'd be suitable for use in a school. I haven't had any returned but they are about $35 cost price so they really aren't comparable to the top of the line ones which are a few hundred.

@The infotainer the problem with this is I this it's all consumers looking for that keyword in Google I don't think it's wholesalers so I don't think anyone would be interested in buying in bulk. Although I guess I could try that and see if I get any interest.

I'm really just looking to make back the money I spent off them. I wouldn't rule out selling them a bit below cost, I really just want to move on.

Sounds like you're assuming . Wouldn't it be worth a visit to your local day care centre, bike in tow, just to make certain? What about toy libraries? They usually have ride on cars and the like.

PS I know someone who runs a parenting fb page with over 4000 followers. If you want to PM some more details (how many, how much etc) I'll ask if she can help.

Hi Wendy thanks, no the bikes aren't commercial grade. I don't think I'd be comfortable selling them to a day care centre. Plus I would have the same issue, no one is going to buy all of them. I don't have issues selling them (I sell a few each week online and on ebay) I just don't want to spend time selling 73 bikes to individuals, I'm keen to find one person to buy the whole lot I think.

Thanks for the offer with your friend, again for now I think I'd rather sell the whole lot rather than maketing them to individuals but I'll let you know if that changes!

Thanks for the comments.

HI Dan,

I wonder if they would be good to sell at markets? My father-in-law works near Eumundi markets, which have a very good following, and this kind of product might just work there. Can you PM me some details and I will see what I can suss out.

Offer it at cost to bike shops. be willing to sell 7 X 10 lots, Position it as a gift to those customers who buy for the whole family or corporate clients.

Or go to a business operating in the health of kids market. you can even offer it to small businesses who want to tap into families. medical centres, gyms, etc. they can use it for contests for those who spend $X.

Summary: sell it to a business that can give away to new or existing customers or use them as a prize as part of a marketing campaign.
