Default Ideas for Marketing to Mums

Hello,

I am seeking some assistance with some fresh ideas on advertising to Mums who are either looking to return to work or who are looking for a low cost start up business adopting a franchise model.

When my little boy was born nearly three years ago I decided that I was not going to return to full time work. A friend gave me a book "Business of the 21st Century" that switched me on to the possibility of setting up my own direct selling business and using a franchise model.

I am sure there are other Mums out there that are or would consider what I did to build a business while I still maintained my greatest job and that is being a Mum.

I would love to hear from members who may have some fresh ideas on ways to market to this audience.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

If you are thinking about how to market the idea to other mothers, it would be opportune to work out the subset of 'mothers' that your idea will appeal to. What 'need(s)' will your idea appeal to - which will further narrow down the pool of mothers. This will also help you work out what your key (selling) message is

Once the pool of mothers are narrowed then you need to work out where to find them - what type of media are they exposed to, as an example. The previous comment about SEO applies here once you work out the who and where.

Examples of generic media avenues for mothers (the big pool) may include baby blogs/forums, mothers' magazine/newsletter (Melbourne has one that is very widely read and I am sure a similar one exists in all capital cities) and locations where they visit often (supermarkets/shopping centres and child health centres).

Good luck

Hi there

There are HEAPS of blog/website out there aimed at mums or families.

www.themogulmom.com
www.familycapers.com.au
http://www.connect2mumscommunity.com.au/
http://www.themomwrites.com/
http://femaleentrepreneurassociation.com/

Just to name a few

Naturally, Facebook is also a great place. I am involved in several WAHM groups, you just need to do some searching.

Cheers and good luck

Nicole

Maybe you could put up ads on noticeboards at daycare centres, local cafes. Just a thought. Best of luck with it all.
