Default facebook advertising

I have developed a novel plan for advertising businesses cheaply on Facebook within the Facebook rules and am currently using the services of a company to make a widget to be used on Facebook. I have uploaded information about what I intend doing to esnips.com, an online storage company. Feel free to read it and email me(email address is on document uploaded to esnips) or reply in this forum with your thoughts. The web address is:

Ignore my ignorance but does this really work? I mean, Facebook is a social network where I keep in contact with friends. Unless I send them loads of messages asking them to forward to their friends how do i benifit from a profile?

Thanks for the reply DPD. Did you read the document uploaded to ensips.com? You don't need to be registered on Facebook for what I am intending. Have a read and you will understand better.

My personal experience with facebook advertising is that it was a waste of time and more importantly, money when I was advertising competitions online website.

But not everyone's experiences are probably the same - there are probably success stories somewhere, I just haven't seen any.

I tried some facebook ads earlier on when they weren't so expensive. I got a few click throughs but no conversions.

I have recently made up a fan page (is just mostly my friends, but also some friends of friends) so far, but from talking to my 'fans' I am now looking at setting up one of my random fans as a distributor for me overseas who wants to get involved. You can have a look at by clicking on the little facebook icon uptop across from my name - have a few videos and photos setup.

I had a quick look at your idea Kevin, sorry I didn't quite get the concept the first time, must be too tired, will have another look tomorrow.

Before you go making judgements on something you need to understand it first. Or read it at least. No point making a judgement on previous experience if your talking about apples and I'm talking about oranges. I'm not talking about advertising on Facebook in the usual way. Facebook allows you to make widgets. I have developed a strategy to make use of that. Read the document first. Then tell me what you think.
My email address is with the document mexham. Email if you like and I can explain the concept in more detail

Facebook advertising differs from traditional paid search advertising in that instead of bidding for certain keywords that people are searching for, you are bidding on the demographics of the user. The demographic filtering technology is still in its infant stages, but even so allows you to target your ads to a specific age, sex, and even things like what school they attend or their sexual orientation. The strategies for advertising in this direction are still being developed, and the competition is still far less than you will encounter in the paid search area.

Thanks for your reply Candise. I know about the Facebook advertising procedures. I'm talking about a completely different concept, using Facebook as a platform. If you read the document I've uploaded to the storage site, you will see what I mean.

Vekian, I dont think anyone is looking at your document. I think it looks a little spammy cause you need to click several times to get to it. Maybe link straight to your document instead of a link to a link for your document or explain a little more about it here so we know what we are looking for. It sounds interesting (your concept) but I dont know what Im looking for hehe!

I'm not commenting on this topic, I am however concerned about a link above. I am mad on competitions and always entering them so when the message from competitions was posted I immediately clicked on the link. Well, the web page that opened has not been kind to my laptop, which is now going thur startup again and cleaning using my anti virus. Hopefully, I haven't lost anything so far as I can see. This has made me very hesitant to click on any links from any members.
