"Gives you new and exciting meaningless numbers to waste time fretting over, whenever you get tired of wasting time obsessing about your Google Toolbar PR" | I love (LOVE) this quote. After deciding I'd completely redesign my own website using Joomla, I went down a level in pagerank and who knows how many millions in Alexa. After tantrums and fretting, I realised my word-of-mouth and referral networks are BY FAR my largest source of work so I decided to stop obsessing about it. I will definitely work on it over time, but I'm learning to put my energy into the bits of my business that make me money (apart from posting in this forum; I must explore that 'strategy' sometime soon, grin).
I also like (which I knew) the point about Alexa only collecting data from people who have the toolbar installed. A lot of small (micro actually) businesses don't and they're my main target market.
