Default Calling Desktop Publishers...

Firstly, I wasn't sure which area to post this to so I apologise if it's in the wrong spot.
If there are any forum members here working in this field, I would be grateful if they would allow me to PM or email them with a couple of questions I have.

Thank you

Mea culpa

I'm trying to ascertain whether people working in this field tend to offer editing and proofreading as part of their service. Googling suggests it's pretty hit and miss.

I would suggest they try to offer these services, but need need specific and skilled staff to do that aspect. This would, hopefully be highlighted on their website.

I have seen some (including in Govt departments) where this is not done and the results are , well not the best....

Hi Tracey,
generally, and I think most designers/desktop publishers would agree, the copy provided is the copy we use.
I correct grammar and typos etc on the fly, but dont offer that as part of the service. When I send a proof to a client for "proofing" it is their responsibility to check for errors.
