Thank you everyone.
Your ideas have been great and confirmed what I was thinking - a members only forum on my main website.
The key is to make it as valuable and hassle free for small business people who don't want to add nonsense to their life. The forum is a simple enough concept for most.
I'm going to open the registration process for a week from now and all are welcome. After that, for non-website customers there's a 20/mo fee.
There will be members-only video tutorials in Wordpress too - on adding and configuring plugins to get certain new functions on your blog, and members can request tutorials etc... you get the picture.
@Michael - your accountabilitiy idea is great. I wonder how i'd implment it. I was planning on using buddypress for all client's website- in that system all activity on the whole system can be listed in one feed - very easy to follow everyone. I guess I could do something with RSS - though there would be a bit of lag.
@Karen your idea is great - I think I'm going to keep this in mind as a info product. I'm already signed up with Aweber so there's nothing stopping me there.
@Jake - thanks - it's a learning process. I'm even thinking of ditching the 'because you love it' theme and going with something like micro-biz-sites.com... still thinking. Lucky it's pretty easy to change the domain name
As for Flying Solo getting jealous - I don't see why they would unless they had a dedicated forum for biz-blogging - which they don't! If they want to, I'd happily help out in exchange for some exposure and promotion
