Default Are you having an end of financial year sale?

I thought I might trial having an end of financial year sale this year and I was wondering if anyone else tries anything similar? Or perhaps has some idea on how to make it work?

I'm in printing and I though offering a 10% discount on all order before June 30 2010 would be a good incentive?

I've created a page to have up until the deadline here if you want to have a look.

I run a 10% off special offer all year round if the customer books through my website, on occasions like EOFY or Christmas/Easter i rename the special for these occasions, 99% of the visitors to my site are new so they wouldnt know i run it all year round and my prices are set so the 10% off price is basically my normal price so im not loosing 10%, its just smart marketing that has worked for me for over 2 years.

I had a quick look at your website and i noticed to find the special you have to go to the Print tab then down to Specials, which not alot of people will do. If you want the special to be affective then it needs to be visible on the front page because i can bet only 0-10% of your visitors are going to go to that specials page and then how many out of that percent will take advantage of it?

Your index page is most likely where 100% of your visitors first land on your website unless you have other pages ranking on google, so you want the special to be visible and stand out on the index page, not hidden a few pages away.

Personally, I don't think a sale is worth the effort for small business doing business to business. IMO, it's a retail thing to get idle once off customers in.

If your business is based on repeat service to the same repeating customers a sale will do nothing but cut into your margins. They're going to buy off you anyway, right?

hmm so yeah, I think it depends on your market and if you are aiming for once offs.

My 2 cents.
