Default I'm not a boy - Help Please

Not sure where this should, so apologies if I've mis-posted.

Like the title says, I'm not a boy, so I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out where to focus my online efforts.

Knowing that you should concentrate on forums, blogs etc is all well and good, but what do you boys get up to online?

Aside from the obvious for Vic boys being footy, I'm not sure where else to look.

What type of thing is the average aussie male looking at on the web?

Also, would love to hear from anyone who has organised a bucks night. What did you get up to? What type of activities or venues?

Any suggestions muchly appreciated.

Well last time I checked I'm a boy so I'll help you out. I'm a 31 year old male to norrow it down a little more. My personal interests are American muscle cars and motorbikes so spend time on forums relating to both. I also enjoy the gym and am a member of a bodybuilding and sports forum as well as make purchases from online supplement stores. Thats where I spend most of my time on the net that isn't work related.

I have also organsied a bucks night. We went gokarting, then paintballing during the day and back to the grooms house at night which was catered and we had some girls provide the "entertainment". I don't think guys look for to much in a bucks night. As long as there are girls and beer we are usually happy.

Hi Craig,

Thanks for that. Having a few ideas on what type of forums and such to look for is really helpful.

Cheers

Hmmm - Let me see if I got this right ...

Your specifically asking us males, where we spend our time on the net... I'm not sure if these forums would be the best place to dispense that, err, kind of information

hehe, in all seriousness, I think you might have a bit of trouble advertising your website around "family friendly" communities - Have you considered creating a G rated "filter" website that you can use to get your name out there?

Hi Jake,

Is good to see I'm not the only one with a sense of humour on here

I understand you boys like to keep your "stuff" boys only, but it is hard when that is your market and you don't have boy brain

Family friendly is definitely an issue. A while ago I posted a thread about the difficulties trying to market adult entertainment, as you generally get lumped in with porn.

Not sure how or if a G-rated filter website would work. On the website there is no explicit nudity. Even in the strippers gallery most you will see is a couple of nipples through see-through material. The other obstacle I see with g-rated is our name....XXXTC... how do you make xxx g-rated?

Maybe the new blog will help in the g-rated area.

Cheers

hehe, I like to try, sometimes at least.

Your filter website doesn't need to have your name XXXTC, you can call it whatever you want.

What I was thinking, was something along the lines of a mini "help site" that gives tips + ideas for those organising a bucks day. As one of your suggestions will obviously be strippers, you can put yourself as a recommended supplier and include a link to your main website.

No one needs to know you own the filter website.

Great idea there from Jake. Guys WILL search for easy bucks night planning ideas and tips. If you can create some content that offer valuable advice and introduce people to what you do, it will work a treat.

To answer the first question .. motorcycle forums, 4x4 websites, dream team (afl). I haven't organised a bucks night, but have attended a couple in the past 12 months. first was a 'pub crawl' on a bus, so a bunch of country pubs. There was a request for 'no strippers' from the buck - which from my assessment if becoming the trend these days. Second one was a 'night on the town' type, that went to a bunch of over priced bars, and ended up at a 'gentlemans establishment'.

As for online advertising, I like the idea of a blog/inforation website for bucks night ideas. You can promote your own services, make a second income channel by selling other advertising, and also make some contacts from businesses in the same market. It's really just an investment in the time and effort to produce some good ideas on the website.

Hey Guys,

Thanks heaps for the suggestions, really appreciate it.

I had intially planned that the new XXXTC Blog would be a behind the scenes type of thing, but after reading and considering your ideas I'm leaning heavily towards the Bucks Night Guide theme.

You've given me something to work with I didn't have before, thank you so much.

BTW - next boys night remember to call XXXTC
