I sincerely think you have been misguided by instant SEO Experts guide who usually have this pattern:
- you have to subscribe to his/her website to watch videos or read the SEO guides
- you are guided to buy links from his/her network
- you are encouraged to resell his/her affiliate links or membership

SEO is not that hard, and not that simple at the same time. All you need is to understand your product, your audience, how to communicate with your audience. It is the relation to human, search engine is just a tool to reach your audience.

Of course you also need to understand your tools and how to use 'em. Your main tools are your website and the search engine. This is where you will have dozens of different checklist when you talk to different experts because each experts has different theories and experience.

I have some practical advice:
- Building inbound links is old time SEO. It still works but it works differently now. Stop wasting your money and time in this, you are even putting your website in danger. Let it grow naturally. If you want to build your inbound links, be very-very selective.
- It looks like your internal SEO or on-page SEO is not enough. Just try to change your WordPress theme to something else and see the outcome in a few weeks. Try it again some other time.
- Keep posting good and new information to your website, on daily basis.
- Make new friends everyday and invite them to see your website (just like the clever thing you did by posting this question)
- Keep doing it, SEO is not one time process but you will always need to maintain your ranking.

Hope there's something useful in my post

The only certain thing about asking for SEO tips on a forum is that you will get bad advice.

This is a handy guide: http://www.google.com/webmasters/doc...rter-guide.pdf

If you are going to go with a professional, be wary and go with someone you trust. Aidan is somebody I would trust with my SEO.

Goof luck!

The reason behind that is because I think the website is lacking on-page optimisation. Some WordPress themes or plugins has better on page SEO than others. So, changing the theme or plugin to something that has better on-page SEO is a very simple strategy.

And I did not mean that theeverydaytrader should change the theme every few weeks at all. This is just one simple possible way to improve on page SEO, if the new theme has better on-page SEO.

Hi Rocka,

I think I understand where you are coming from. Usually though an SEO will just fix the navigation or internal linking or whatever it is that a theme might be messing up.

It's not wise to just go changing themes in the hope that one of them might be a better one for SEO, far better to understand what the problem is first then deal with it.

Hi, nice looking site. That sounds like it'd be an interesting industry to be involved in.

My main criticism of it from an SEO point of view is that I see very little evidence of any sort of keyword strategy. That's where the 'O' in SEO comes from - we're not just optimising for the search engines generally, but we're optimising for particular keywords and phrases.

As the other posters indicate, good SEO starts with a well thought out strategy based on thorough research. Before you start building out a link network and tweaking all the on-page factors, you wanna be working out which keywords that have the right combination of traffic, competition and commercial potential. From looking your header and title tags and all your internal links, it's not obvious to me what phrases you are actually targeting.

Some the phrases that I do get from your title tag are "trade stocks" and "trading stocks", which put you up against sites like the ASX and Comsec, which are very large high PR sites with lots of indexed pages and are well targeted towards those same phrases. It's perfectly possible to go up against sites like these, but it'll take a big resource commitment and very careful targeting of the right keywords, and a lot of patience. It might be a better choice to start going for some some lower hanging fruit instead. "Picking your battles" is often the key to good SEO, and it's crucial if you're a smaller player in a big market.

You do have a great ranking for the phrase "learn how to trade", but that's only reporting 140 phrase match searches per month in australia - that's not even 5 per day. The global level of traffic is larger, but not impressively so. And a lot of those are going to end being for phrases like "learn how to trade gold", which you're not going to show up for, nor are they probably going to result in a purchase even if you did get that traffic.

I hope I'm not being too discouraging, because a lot of the metrics on your site aren't bad at all, but without a proper keyword strategy it's a bit like driving with a blindfold on.

I would suggest setting up a blog on your site.

Based on Adsense data, most keywords for this niche are very competitive.
I suggest that you link to more relevant or at least popular sites by giving them some sort of incentives like free copy of your book or guest posts in exchange for a keyword rich backlink. Press release distribution companies can give good backlinks from authoritative sites.
