Disclaimer: (My thoughts on the above link) but at the same time Its like hiring a gender over the person most qualified to speak about something. the most qualified person may be a girl, but it might not be, but for a conference to say it must be a girl then I think this is pretty small minded.

I totally agree.. I think it should always be the best person based on their individual merits, regardless of gender, age, race, or anything else. But then again, as someone else mentioned, there's clearly a demand so if someone wants to meet that need - power to them!

Gotta love consumer power and diversification

Ironically it's also worked out that all of us involved in presenting this month's event are women - but all the same ones who presented at last year's event, so nothing hinky going on there!
