Default Not-for-profit organization

Hi,

We want to start not-for-profit organization registered as a limited by guarantee company.

Almost everything is ready, we have board of directors, secretary, members, own constitution, etc.

The last thing which we are not sure about is share structure and shares. Do we need shares applying for limited by guarantee company?

If so how to solve this problem? What kind of shares should we release, and so on?

Can someone help us with this?

Cheers,
bart

Hi Bart,

Whilst I cannot really shed any light on your question, I am particularly interested in what you have learnt through this process.

I am myself in the process of looking into the intricacies of establishing a not for profit organisation. If you have any tips, comments etc. I would love it if you could drop me an email - info<at>agentmail.com.au

P.S. - I had not considered the shares issue, as I thought that all profits had to be retained in the organisation, but I guess ultimately it still needs to be ' owned' by someone

Best of luck
