New cleaning business

Hello,

So I decided I wanted to start my own cleaning business.

I registered my business name, got an ABN, distributed 150 flyers, made a web page, listed with truelocal, startlocal,local business guide, made a facebook page, a google+ page and google places.

I have purchased some basic good quality cleaning products from the cleaning supplier and am usine my own personal vacuum (dyson) for now and will hope to purchase a backpack vacuum later.

I have had very few (maybe 5 at the most) enquiries. Very disheartening

Wondering what I am doing wrong....?

If anyone can help I would very much appreciate all f the input I can get. Have not had one job yet!

What promotion have you done of your Web and facebook pages?

And is your target market business or domestic?

Was Hoping to target both commercial and domestic? If that is possible?

I guess I haven't actually promoted my facebook r web page. In fact the nly enquiries I have had have come from facebook

You can target both, but you need different strategies.

Facebook is probably great for domestic - spend some time going around to local networking pages and promote! Don't bother with the tagging sites - most of the people there won't be your target.

Businesses are more likely to respond to B2B marketing in the form of your flyers etc - but don't just drop them off, ask to speak to the manager.

There are people here who are much better marketers than I so I'll wait for them to chime in.

Thank you for your time and input I greatly appreciate it! Will definitely look into B2B marketing. Just need to work on how I will represent my business and what I will say. I have an appointment with a business mentor in a week so hopefully I will get some ideas/help with what I am and need to be doing..

Thank you. It was actually my partner's idea. It is free and run by the local council for 45 mins...

Not sure on what to say if I was approaching a potential business customer? Any ideas n what I should say in offering my services? To look professinal and say the right thing?

Hey Caroline, you can add your webpage to your signature simply by going to the control panel section of your profile. This will help increase your exposure a little bit
