Default Any PDF Experts

HI All,

One of my clients has sent their invoice run through to me in a PDF format. It has a total of approx 800 invoices and about 3,000 pages.

I want to be able to work with the file by duplex printing, but not every invoice is an exact 2 or 3 pages, so if I enable duplex printing, it will print incorrectly.

Does anyone know of a way or a software that can assist in creating even pages, by inserting blanks when it is a 1,3 or 5 page invoice?

This might be a stretch as I know pdf's are not the easiest thing to manipulate,

Thanks for any input

I use Nitro to convert PDF to Word and then edit the document as required.

Have to admit that it is a little hit and miss... some images don't convert too well. They have a free version which might be worth a try:

Keep in mind that the free version might not be appropriate for invoices as it is an online service rather than a download. Not sure where /if any information is stored.

it may be easier to ask them to generate each invoice as a separate PDF file.. ?

of course, if this is going to be an ongoing thing, you wouldn't want to do that.

It sounds like you need an actual version of Acrobat (the full client, that can edit PDF files)

If you have Acrobat Professional you could insert blank pages, but it would be a manual process.

There are also much cheaper programs that would be able to do it. I would recommend this one:

You'll need to create a blank page and then drag and drop it in wherever needed.

Do you have Adobe Acrobat?

I use Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. They have a feature called combine.
So File > Combine > Merge Files into a single pdf

If there is a page with minimum text, you can extract the page using Document>extract pages to clean it up.

If you need to insert blank page, create a blank.pdf file. Then add this blank page using Document > insert pages (you can specify which page do you want to add the blank page to).

Then you can just print everything using duplex feature.

If you don't have Adobe Acrobat, download a 30-day trial from adobe website.

Hope that helps.

Patricia.

I use a product called Bluebeam for all my PDF manipulation.
It was cheaper than Adobe ($120 I think) and wasn't all loaded up with functionality I wouldn't use.

I don't expect any "off the shelf" program will be able to determine where one invoice stopts and the new invoice starts (except the program that created the invoices).

I would expect you would need custom software built if you wanted an automatic solution - and as mentioned PDF's can be difficult to work with so I would expect it wouldn't be a cheap problem to solution.
