Look better in your FS profile pic

Hi, I've noticed that some people have a skewed profile picture on the right of the page under 'member spotlight'.

This is just a quick 'low-tech' guide on how you can turn the disproportioned sized picture into a nice one. There are better ways of doing with this photoshop etc... but this is one way that anyone can do.

1) Go to http://www.shrinkpictures.com/ (I have no connection with this page but I like that it's nice and simple). See the attachment to this post for a screenshot
2) Click 'Choose File' and select your great member photo
3) Enter 150 into the Custom field and choose the Custom radio button
4) Click Resize
5) Click Download this picture now

Upload the photo. (note this only works if the original picture is wider than it is taller)

I am concerned at the amount of designers that have a skewed image. Doesn't really give of a great first impression.

Definitely agree with you Mathew - it's ok if you run a non-media centric business but it part of maintaining your brand image if it's a business like ours.

People who manage their profile pics are likely to be trusted more compared to those who don't care.

I'm pretty certain that the picture I supplied to FS was perfectly in proportion. They've chose to stretch me for some reason.

Sadly, they made me look fatter rather than slimmer.

The problem/challenge is that the FS Control panel profiles are square 100x100pixels. The Spotlight images are 329 pixels wide x 222 pixels high. If someone has only provided a portrait shape photo instead of horizontal for Spotlight, they are stretched sideways, hence the people look stretched or skewed.

Thanks for picking this up!! We've noticed this too and it's our system to blame - it stretches the images that were supplied for Business Class spotlight profiles (they are different from the standard profile pics). We'll be working to resize the images our end and re-upload them, as well as updating the instructions/system so we get them right up front.
